Bellarmine University’s softball team has released its schedule for the 2026 season, as announced by head coach Whitney Arion. This will be Arion’s first year leading the program after previously serving as Director of Player Development and Video Analysis at Eastern Kentucky University.
The upcoming season features 51 games, with Bellarmine hosting 17 contests at Knights Field, including one multi-team event on home turf. The Knights are set to play a 24-game Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) schedule, divided evenly between home and away series. The ASUN will continue its division-based format this year, placing Bellarmine in the Gold Division alongside Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, EKU, Lipscomb, and North Alabama.
The season begins February 6-8 in Carrollton, Georgia at the University of West Georgia’s Opening Weekend event. There, Bellarmine will face Drexel and West Georgia twice each before playing Georgia State. The team then heads to Chattanooga for the Chattanooga Challenge from February 13-15 to compete against Canisius, Ohio University, Middle Tennessee (twice), and host Chattanooga.
Bellarmine’s first home games take place during the Bellarmine Softball Classic from February 20-22 against Western Illinois and Northern Kentucky. On February 24, the Knights travel to face Louisville before heading to Madeira Beach for the Make It Happen Games from February 27 through March 1. Opponents there include Bethune-Cookman, Siena, Monmouth, UMass and UAlbany.
Following their return to Louisville for the Cardinal Classic on March 6-7—where they play LIU twice and Ball State—the Knights host IU Indy on March 12 ahead of their conference opener against Lipscomb March 14-15.
Subsequent conference matchups see Bellarmine traveling to EKU (March 21-22), Kentucky (March 24), Austin Peay (April 3-4), and Lipscomb (April 18-19). Home series include North Alabama (March 28-29), Central Arkansas (April 11-12), and EKU again April 25-26. Additional midweek games are scheduled at Evansville on April 1 and Tennessee Tech on April 14.
The regular season concludes with three road games at North Alabama May 1-2. The ASUN Conference Tournament is set for May 5-9 in Jacksonville at UNF Softball Complex.
