Bellarmine University’s baseball team swept a doubleheader against Lipscomb on April 4, taking both games at Voll Field and securing its second consecutive ASUN Conference series victory.
The wins mark the first time since moving to Division I that Bellarmine has claimed back-to-back conference series. This achievement highlights the team’s progress in adapting to higher-level competition.
In the opening game, Bellarmine overcame an early five-run deficit and posted a high-scoring 17-10 victory. The Knights’ offense recorded 15 hits, with Cole Huett and AJ Swader combining for eight runs batted in. Swader also hit a home run during his multi-hit performance. Mason Acton and Jake Bell each contributed three hits, while Chase Chamberlain earned the win in relief on the mound.
Momentum continued into game two as Bellarmine secured a 9-5 win. Landon Akers led off with a home run and finished with three hits and three RBIs, including two home runs overall. Eli Watson added two hits and two RBIs, while Luke Scales had two doubles as part of another balanced offensive effort. Deaton Oak started on the mound allowing just one run over four innings before Karl Ralamb picked up the win in relief.
With these victories, Bellarmine continues its positive trajectory within ASUN play by achieving consecutive conference series wins for the first time at this level.
The Knights will next travel to Evansville to face Southern Indiana on Monday before returning home for a matchup against Murray State at Knights Field.
