Bellarmine Knights Women’s Basketball concluded its non-conference schedule with a 110-38 loss to the 20th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sunday night in South Bend, Indiana. This marks the team’s fourth game against a power conference opponent in its last five outings and leaves Bellarmine with an overall record of 2-11 heading into conference play.
The Knights started slowly, falling behind 10-0 before responding with an 8-4 run led by Rose Jamison, who scored five points during that stretch. Despite narrowing the deficit to six points early, Bellarmine was unable to maintain momentum as Notre Dame went on a decisive 22-5 run to close out the first quarter and maintained control for the remainder of the game.
Rose Jamison led Bellarmine offensively with 17 points, including 11 in the first half. This performance follows her previous double-digit scoring effort against Arizona, where she recorded 20 points. Jamison also contributed eight rebounds.
Kayce Hyman added nine points for Bellarmine, all coming in the second half. Off the bench, Haya Abdel Aal scored five points—both field goals coming as she was fouled—and collected seven rebounds.
Bellarmine will open ASUN conference play at home against Queens (NC) on New Year’s Day, with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 PM.
