University of Louisville men’s basketball guards Mikel Brown Jr. and Ryan Conwell have been invited to the 2026 NBA Draft Combine, according to a May 8 announcement.
The invitation to the combine is significant for both players as it offers them an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts and executives ahead of the upcoming NBA Draft.
The NBA Draft Combine will take place from May 10-17 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago. Brown averaged 18.2 points, 4.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game across 21 contests for Louisville this season, earning Third Team All-ACC and All-Rookie Team honors. He recorded nine games with at least 20 points—the most by any Louisville freshman in a single season—and led his team in scoring on nine occasions as well as leading in assists during sixteen games.
Brown was recognized as National AP Player of the Week, Naismith Trophy Player of the Week, and ACC Player and Rookie of the Week after notable performances against NC State and Baylor. In particular, he tied Louisville’s single-game scoring record with a 45-point performance against NC State that also broke the ACC Freshman single-game scoring record.
Conwell led Louisville with an average of 18.8 points per game while shooting over forty percent from both field goal range (40.8%) and three-point distance (34.5%). The Second Team All-ACC selection started all thirty-four games this season for Louisville, finishing sixth in league scoring while ranking tenth in free throw percentage and eighth in three-point field goal percentage within conference play.
Conwell made a total of one hundred twelve three-pointers during the year—ranking among national leaders—and scored double digits in thirty-three out of thirty-four games played, including fifteen games with at least twenty points scored.
The NBA Draft Lottery will be broadcast on ABC on Sunday, May 10 at three p.m., followed by the first round of the draft on June twenty-third on ABC and ESPN; round two will air June twenty-fourth on ESPN.
Louisville has produced seventy-seven NBA Draft picks throughout its history; thirteen Cardinals have been selected among top ten picks overall.
