Kamarute named to ASUN Indoor All-Academic Team
Bellarmine University track and field senior Katrina Kamarute earned a spot on the 12-member ASUN Indoor All-Academic Team, the league announced Thursday.
Kamarute is a business administration major and carries a 3.92 grade-point average. The native of Riga, Latvia, is now a two-time recipient of the award after previously being recognized in 2021. She’s also a two-time member of the ASUN Honor Roll and was Academic All-GLVC prior to the Division-I transition.
The ASUN All-Academic Teams celebrate a combination of academic and athletic excellence. At this season’s ASUN Indoor Championship, Kamarute earned a bronze medal in the 400 meters while helping the 4×400 relay team to a fifth-place finish.
In 2021, Kamarute helped push both the indoor and outdoor 4×400 relay teams to silver medals. She also garnered an ASUN Track Athlete of the Week accolade in that indoor season.
