The University of Louisville announced on Apr. 27 that its women’s volleyball team will play against the University of Missouri in the second annual ACC/SEC Challenge, known as the “Showdown at the Net.” The match is scheduled for Sept. 9 at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena in Louisville.
This event is part of a broader series that highlights competition between teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and Southeastern Conference. According to the announcement, Louisville last played Missouri on Sept. 7, 2024, when the Cardinals won in straight sets. The current all-time series record stands at six wins for Louisville and two for Missouri.
The challenge includes a doubleheader on Wednesday, September 9, featuring four nationally recognized programs at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex – State Farm Field House at Walt Disney World Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. Tennessee will face Pittsburgh at 7 p.m., followed by Texas A&M against Stanford at 9:30 p.m., with both matches broadcast on ESPN2.
In addition to these marquee matches, fourteen other contests will be held on various campuses across both conferences on September 8 and September 9. Details regarding start times and broadcast assignments for these campus-hosted games are expected to be released later.
The “Showdown at the Net” schedule includes Auburn playing Florida State and Notre Dame facing Georgia among other notable matchups across both days.
