The University of Louisville women’s lacrosse team will travel to face No. 10 Stanford in an Atlantic Coast Conference game scheduled for April 4 at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

This matchup is the second of four consecutive games against top-25 ranked opponents for Louisville as it concludes its regular season. The Cardinals, currently holding a 6-6 record, recently lost to No. 19 Virginia with a score of 12-10.

Offensively, the Cardinals are led by junior Reese Whiteman, who has tallied 35 points this season and scored at least one goal in all but one game. Sophomore Ella Berg follows closely with 34 points and has recorded at least one point in every game so far this year. Charlotte Jackson, also a sophomore, has achieved career highs with both goals and assists and ranks ninth in the conference for free position percentage.

Sophomore goalkeeper Haley Richards was named an Inside Lacrosse Media Midseason All-America Honorable Mention and leads the nation as of March 30 in total saves (152), saves per game (12.67), and save percentage (.543). Richards set a school record with 19 saves during a win over Florida State earlier this season—the highest single-game total by any ACC goalie this year—and has made double-digit saves in eight out of twelve contests.

On draw controls, sophomore Olivia Scroggie leads Louisville with an average of seven per game and stands eighth on the program’s all-time list after surpassing the century mark for her career. Freshman Avery Johnston leads in ground balls while junior Cate Kangas paces the team in caused turnovers.

Stanford enters the contest ranked tenth nationally despite losing its last two games against other ranked teams after starting its season undefeated through ten matches. Four Cardinal players received Inside Lacrosse Media Midseason All-American honors, including Kate Bellissimo on first team and Aliya Polisky on second team; Polisky also leads Stanford with a combined total of goals and assists producing forty-six points this season.

Following Saturday’s match against Stanford, Louisville will return home to host No. 24 Pittsburgh for their final home game where seniors Rian Adkins, Aubrey Bagenstose, Karli Harnischfeger, Sophie Macleod, Maggie McMahon, Erin Nicholson and Cece Reilly will be honored.
