The University of Louisville track and field teams announced on Apr. 30 that they will finish their regular season this weekend, competing at both the Jim Green Invitational and the Duke Twilight.

This update is important as it marks a milestone for the men’s team, which is ranked tenth in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Track & Field Rating Index—its highest outdoor ranking ever. The women’s team has also improved, moving up two spots to seventeenth nationally.

Both Louisville’s women’s long jump and triple jump squads are currently ranked first in the NCAA, leading a total of eight event squads within the top fifteen nationally. Most team members will travel to Lexington, Kentucky for the Jim Green Invitational from May 1-2 at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex. Events begin Friday afternoon with field events starting at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

Ashley Callahan leads the women’s squad into competition, entering with a third-place national ranking in pole vault. Kaia Tupu-South holds ninth place nationally in women’s shot put. On the men’s side, Ryan Farrell and Ethan Brouw are set to compete in the men’s 800 meters after recording program-best times two weeks ago.

At Duke Twilight on May 3 in Durham, North Carolina, distance runners Leo Brewer and Emma McGill will aim for regional qualifying marks in their respective 5000-meter races late Sunday evening.
