Morgan McGarvey, a United States Congressman representing Kentucky’s 3rd district since 2023, recently took to social media to discuss various issues impacting his constituents. McGarvey, a Louisville native with a background in law and prior legislative experience in the Kentucky Senate and House of Representatives, addressed topics ranging from the arts to economic concerns and veterans’ healthcare in a series of posts made on April 30, 2025.

On April 30, 2025, McGarvey urged his constituents to participate in the Congressional Art Competition, stating ” TODAY is the last day to vote in our Congressional Art Competition!”. This call to action encourages public engagement in recognizing artistic talent in his district.

Later that day, McGarvey commented on economic challenges and feedback he received from local town halls in Kentucky. He expressed concern over the state of the economy following the early days of President Trump’s presidency, remarking, “After just 100 days of Trump’s presidency, costs are up, the economy’s down, and families are hurting.” McGarvey noted that many residents of Louisville, particularly those in Russell and Douglass Hills, expressed fatigue with ongoing chaos.

In a subsequent post, McGarvey addressed healthcare for veterans in Louisville. He shared an update on infrastructure development aimed at improving veteran services, stating, “Every Louisville veteran should be able to get high-quality health care, no matter where they live.” McGarvey highlighted progress on the new VA hospital in East Louisville, which is expected to benefit the community.

Morgan McGarvey is a distinguished lawmaker with an academic background from the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law. He has been a Louisville resident since his birth in 1979.
