U.S. Representative Morgan McGarvey, who has represented Kentucky’s 3rd district since 2023, addressed several community and national issues in a series of social media posts this week.
On September 11, 2025, McGarvey commemorated the legacy of a local public servant with the message: “Bobbie Holsclaw dedicated over two decades of her life to Jefferson County. She truly changed the way we interact with our government, and I know her legacy will live on throughout our community. My prayers are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Later that day, marking the anniversary of a national tragedy, he posted: “Today marks 24 years since the horrific attacks on September 11 that took thousands of innocent lives. We’ll never forget the brave first responders who acted heroically to save their fellow Americans, and I’m holding the families of those we lost close to my heart today.”
Addressing health care concerns for his constituents in Louisville on September 12, McGarvey wrote: “The last thing Louisvillians need right now is higher health care costs. Congress can and should fix this. House Republicans just have to work with us.”
McGarvey was born in Louisville in 1979 and continues to reside there. He succeeded John Yarmuth as representative for Kentucky’s 3rd district after serving in both chambers of Kentucky’s state legislature between 2013 and 2023. McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
