Morgan McGarvey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky’s 3rd district, has recently taken to social media to express his views on various political and historical issues. His posts reflect a range of concerns from economic policies to historical commemorations.

On June 4, 2025, McGarvey addressed the impact of tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump on small businesses. He shared an interaction with Administrator Loeffler of the Small Business Administration (SBA), stating “Trump’s tariffs are hitting small businesses hard — I asked Administrator Loeffler if the SBA is doing anything to help. She couldn’t answer.” McGarvey drew a parallel between evasive responses and his experiences as a parent, noting “I have three kids. I know what it means when someone doesn’t answer a question directly.”

The following day, on June 5, 2025, McGarvey commented on fiscal priorities under Trump’s administration. He criticized the focus on wealthier individuals while addressing ongoing disputes involving high-profile figures like Elon Musk. He stated “While Donald Trump and Elon Musk fight over private jets and rocket ships, don’t forget that Trump’s budget cuts your health care and benefits to hand even more money to billionaires like them.”

On June 6, 2025, McGarvey took a moment to commemorate the D-Day anniversary. He urged followers to honor those who served during World War II, writing “As we mark the 81st anniversary of D-Day, join me in honoring the thousands of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of others on June 6, 1944.” He emphasized that “Their brave service will never be forgotten.”

Morgan McGarvey has represented Kentucky’s 3rd District since succeeding John Yarmuth in 2023. Before joining Congress, he served in both the Kentucky House of Representatives and Senate. Born in Louisville in 1979 and educated at the University of Missouri and University of Kentucky College of Law, McGarvey continues to reside in his hometown.
