Later that afternoon, he posted in recognition of Transgender Day of Visibility: “Today, we celebrate the love, joy, and resilience of the trans community and stand together in the fight to protect the lives, voices, and rights of trans people. Wanting a safe and authentic life for ALL of our neighbors and loved ones shouldn’t be radical. #TDOV https://t.co/UdIyj5iBSK” (March 31, 2026).
Addressing recent legal developments regarding conversion therapy practices in his third post that evening, McGarvey stated: “Today’s SCOTUS ruling does not change the fact that conversion therapy is dangerous and widely disproven. No one should have to suffer this kind of torture – we will not stop fighting to protect kids from this cruel and fraudulent practice. https://t.co/JGJHJs8GfL” (March 31, 2026).
Morgan McGarvey has represented Kentucky’s 3rd District since replacing John Yarmuth in Congress in 2023. Before his current role in Washington D.C., he served both in the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023 and briefly in the Kentucky House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979, McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri (BA) and the University of Kentucky College of Law (JD), where he graduated in 2007.
