Rep. Morgan McGarvey, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 3rd district, has recently posted a series of updates on social media addressing national transparency efforts, local military recognition, and his ongoing work in Congress.

On September 3, 2025, McGarvey announced an initiative to increase transparency regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case: “We’re forcing a vote to release the Epstein files. Let’s get these victims the justice they deserve.”

The following day, September 4, he recognized the service of a local military leader: “Sergeant Major Troy Black has made Louisville and our entire country proud. As he retires from a distinguished 37-year career of service marked by incredible bravery and patriotism, we thank him for all he’s done in defense of our nation.”

On September 5, McGarvey shared reflections on his recent activities representing his district: “After a month at home, I’m back in DC to fight for Louisville in Congress. It’s your voices that guide my work — here’s a look back at what my August looked like:”

Morgan McGarvey began serving as U.S. Representative for Kentucky’s 3rd District in 2023 after succeeding John Yarmuth. Prior to this role, he served in both the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate between 2013 and 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979, McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
