Rep. Morgan McGarvey, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 3rd district, used his social media platform this week to address a range of issues including community engagement, government spending priorities, and the impact of political decisions on federal workers.
On April 8, McGarvey encouraged constituents to participate in an ongoing event, writing: “TWO WEEKS left to vote! We’ve got a lot of great submissions this year — vote here: https://t.co/eqtEFFgZsG https://t.co/q8n7hcnkGq” (posted April 8, 2026).
Later that day, he criticized federal budget allocations with the statement: “No money to feed hungry kids — but somehow there’s always more money for war and vanity projects. A blatant waste of taxpayer money. https://t.co/uRwt38889C” (posted April 8, 2026).
On April 9, McGarvey addressed disruptions in travel services and attributed them to recent political developments: “Travel is a nightmare right now — and more than 500 TSA agents have already quit because of the Republican shutdown. Trump wants to make it worse, just so he can pay for the war he started. https://t.co/HmftChQ7UV” (posted April 9, 2026).
Morgan McGarvey has served in Congress since replacing John Yarmuth in 2023 and previously held positions in both the Kentucky House of Representatives and Senate from 2013 through early 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979, McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
