U.S. Representative Morgan McGarvey, who serves Kentucky’s 3rd district and resides in Louisville, recently shared updates on social media about his community engagement and legislative priorities.

On August 28, 2025, McGarvey posted about a school visit: “From a mock jury trial and 3D printing to gardening and a couple of reptiles, I had a great visit to @CarrithersMS! I loved learning about their programs to shape the next generation of public service, business, communications leaders.”

The following day, August 29, he reminded constituents of an upcoming event: “REMINDER: I’m hosting a town hall TOMORROW and I want to hear from you! RSVP to join me at the link below.”

Later that day, McGarvey addressed concerns regarding housing assistance: “We’re getting calls from neighbors who are concerned about Section 8 going away. Despite President Trump’s proposed cuts, this program is still intact and can’t be changed without an act from Congress. I will vote against any effort to kick Louisvillians out of their homes.”

Morgan McGarvey has represented Kentucky’s 3rd District in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after succeeding John Yarmuth. Before his current role in Congress, he served in both the Kentucky House of Representatives (2019-2023) and the Kentucky Senate (2013-2023). Born in Louisville in 1979, McGarvey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and completed his law degree at the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2007.
