Rep. Morgan McGarvey, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 3rd district and Louisville native, recently posted a series of tweets highlighting community spirit, local landmarks, and national concerns.
On August 25, 2025, McGarvey acknowledged the longstanding presence of a local business in Louisville, writing: “Louisvillians are compassionate — we lift each other up and we’re there for neighbors in need. For over a century, @nanzandkraft has been a huge part of how we show each other we care. Happy 175 years!”
The following day, August 26, he praised one of the city’s outdoor attractions: “Parklands at Floyd’s Fork is a true gem in Louisville Metro — miles of hiking and biking paths, fresh water fishing, canoeing and kayaking attracts millions of visitors each year. Thank you for the tour!”
On August 27, McGarvey addressed a national issue after an incident in Minneapolis: “As a dad of three kids who just went back to school, my heart breaks for everyone impacted in Minneapolis, especially the families of the students who won’t be going home tonight. Gun violence is an epidemic that impacts every community — Congress must act.”
Morgan McGarvey began serving in Congress in 2023 after succeeding John Yarmuth as representative for Kentucky’s 3rd district. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate between 2013 and 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979 and currently residing there with his family, McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
