Rep. Morgan McGarvey, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 3rd district and Louisville native, recently marked several local events and issues in a series of social media posts.
On September 6, 2025, McGarvey celebrated a local tradition by posting: “Prost! Happy Oktoberfest, Louisville!”
Two days later, on September 8, he acknowledged the anniversary of a key community event with the message: “10 years of Louisville Pride! So much work goes into creating such a joyful celebration of Louisville’s LGBTQ+ community — I’m grateful for everyone who plays a part in our city’s pride festival year after year.”
Later that same day, McGarvey commented on the impact of federal budget decisions on children in Kentucky: “As a dad, the thought of any child in Kentucky going hungry is heart-wrenching. These are the real-life consequences of Trump’s budget. He’s holding our communities back, not pushing us forward.”
Morgan McGarvey has represented Kentucky’s 3rd District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding John Yarmuth. Before his current role, he served in both the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979 and currently residing there, McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
