Rep. Morgan McGarvey, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 3rd district, shared a series of updates on social media regarding local events and policy concerns in mid-August 2025.

On August 18, McGarvey posted about his participation at the state fair: “Kicked off the Kentucky State Fair with the Ag Commissioner Commodity Breakfast last week! Lots of great Kentucky grown food, friends, and fellowship.”

Later that day, he addressed healthcare issues for seniors and criticized proposed Medicaid cuts: “Every senior deserves autonomy and quality care, and programs like PACE actually save taxpayers’ money. Trump’s Medicaid cuts threaten this vital service in our community — all so he can give his donors a tax break.”

On August 19, McGarvey informed Louisville residents about an upcoming event: “LOUISVILLE: Tomorrow at 11am, SBA Kentucky is hosting a free webinar to learn about available disaster recovery programs for businesses, homeowners, renters and private nonprofits. RSVP to attend here:”

Morgan McGarvey has represented Kentucky’s 3rd District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding John Yarmuth. Prior to serving in Congress, McGarvey was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023 and served in the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979, he continues to reside there. He holds a BA from the University of Missouri and earned his JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2007.
