Rep. Morgan McGarvey, who represents Kentucky’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, marked several events on August 15, 2025, highlighting community engagement and economic development in Louisville.
On the anniversary of Social Security, McGarvey wrote, “Today, we celebrated 90 years of Social Security, a promise to every American. But it’s not just a celebration, it’s a call to action — we have to keep fighting to protect it, strengthen it, and make sure it’s still here for us and all of our neighbors.” (August 15, 2025).
Later that day, he shared details from a local event: “I always love catching up with our fellow Louisvillians at Masonic Home — thanks to everyone who showed up to my town hall today for a very lively discussion of everything going in DC and here at home in Louisville!” (August 15, 2025).
In another post about economic development efforts in Louisville, McGarvey stated: “Proud to join @GEAppliancesCo for the announcement of their $3 billion expansion of Appliance Park — proof that when federal, state, and local leaders work together, we can deliver real results. These new jobs will transform lives here in Louisville.” (August 15, 2025).
Morgan McGarvey has represented Kentucky’s 3rd District since replacing John Yarmuth in Congress in 2023. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served both in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023 and the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979 and currently residing there at age 43, McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
