Representative Morgan McGarvey of Kentucky’s 3rd congressional district, a position he assumed in 2023, shared several key thoughts and updates on April 21, 2025, via social media platform X. McGarvey, who previously served in the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023 and is a Louisville native, has been vocal in expressing his beliefs and community engagements.

On April 21, 2025, Rep. McGarvey took to social media to express his condolences on the passing of a revered religious figure. In his post, he stated, “In life and service, we are judged by how we treat those on the margins — Pope Francis led with that belief. Today, I join millions in mourning his passing. His legacy calls on each of us to treat all of our neighbors with compassion and lift up our most vulnerable.”

Later that day, McGarvey encouraged young artists from Louisville to participate in a creative competition. He stated, “The deadline to submit your artwork for this year’s Congressional Art Competition is TOMORROW! All Louisville highschoolers are invited to submit their original art — visit my website to learn more:” He highlighted the approaching deadline and invited local high school students to partake in the event.

In another post from the same day, Rep. McGarvey highlighted a visit to a local community supporter, AMPED Louisville, and praised their work. He noted, “From music to tech to entrepreneurship, @AMPEDLouisville supports Louisvillians of all ages, and we’re lucky to have them. It was great to see the progress they’re making on their new Tech & Learning Center — thanks for having me!” In this post, McGarvey acknowledged the organization’s efforts in supporting the community across various fields like music, technology, and entrepreneurship.

Morgan McGarvey holds a BA from the University of Missouri and a JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law, attained in 2007. He continues to reside in Louisville, contributing actively to his community and representing them in Congress.
