On March 29, 2025, McGarvey expressed his support for the local soccer team in a tweet stating, “Go @loucityfc!”.

In another tweet posted on March 31, 2025, McGarvey extended holiday wishes to his constituents by saying, “Wishing a joyous and blessed #EidMubarak to everyone celebrating in Louisville!”.

Later that day, McGarvey addressed the significance of the Trans Day of Visibility with a tweet highlighting his support for the trans community.
