U.S. Representative Morgan McGarvey, who serves Kentucky’s 3rd district and resides in Louisville, recently expressed gratitude to local officials and highlighted community efforts through a series of social media posts.
On August 31, 2025, McGarvey acknowledged the contributions of city leaders by stating, “Big thanks to the help of @LouisvilleMayor and Councilmembers Ginny Mulvey-Woolridge, Kevin Bratcher, and Jeff Hudson!”
That same day, he praised the Fern Creek Fire Department’s longstanding service to the community. He wrote, “For decades, @FernCreekFD has been taking care of our community, and I’ve had the honor of working with them for the last 10 years. Couldn’t be prouder to see them grow into a new space that will support the lifesaving work they do every day!”
On September 1, 2025—Labor Day—McGarvey posted about labor rights in Louisville: “Louisville is a union town — our workers are the heart of our city. This #LaborDay, we celebrate the progress American workers and unions have made, and we stand in solidarity with every worker’s right to organize for better pay, safe working conditions, and good benefits.”
McGarvey has represented Kentucky’s 3rd district in Congress since replacing John Yarmuth in 2023. Before his tenure in Congress began that year, he served both in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023 and on the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979 and currently residing there at age 43, McGarvey holds a BA from the University of Missouri and earned his JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2007.
