Rep. Morgan McGarvey, representing Kentucky’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has recently shared his views on several topics through a series of tweets. McGarvey succeeded John Yarmuth and previously served in both the Kentucky House of Representatives and Senate.
On June 3, 2025, McGarvey expressed gratitude towards his colleagues for their contributions to advancing a legislative bill. He specifically acknowledged “my co-lead @RepPeteStauber, Ranking Member @NydiaVelazquez, @CodyClarkMagic, and so many more” for their efforts.
The following day, on June 4, 2025, he highlighted the importance of public broadcasting services in rural Kentucky areas for emergency alerts. In a tweet criticizing Donald Trump’s proposed budget cuts, he stated that “Donald Trump’s plan to cut these services by $1.1 billion makes us all less safe.”
Later that day, McGarvey questioned the transparency of the Trump Administration in another tweet. He remarked on the difficulty of obtaining straightforward answers from them by stating that “it’s like pulling teeth every time we try to get a simple yes or no answer.”
Morgan McGarvey was born in Louisville in 1979 and continues to reside there. He is an alumnus of the University of Missouri with a BA degree and holds a JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
