On July 24, McGarvey reflected on his ongoing outreach efforts and constituent concerns regarding federal policy: “Just finished my 13th town hall since Trump took office. McGarvey has served as U.S. Representative for Kentucky’s 3rd district since replacing John Yarmuth in 2023. Before joining Congress, he served in both chambers of Kentucky’s legislature—first as a member of the Senate from 2013 to 2023 and then briefly in the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023. Born in Louisville in 1979, McGarvey holds degrees from the University of Missouri (BA) and University of Kentucky College of Law (JD).
