Morgan McGarvey, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 3rd district since 2023, has shared several updates on matters affecting Louisville residents through a series of tweets.
On April 18, 2025, McGarvey indicated a development concerning the CHNV program, designed to provide temporary parole for Louisvillians. He stated, “This is welcome news for Louisvillians in the CHNV program.” According to McGarvey, individuals who received a notice from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in March ending their parole on April 24th should disregard that communication. He advised them to adhere to their initial parole dates and to stay updated through the provided link.
Continuing on April 18, 2025, McGarvey conveyed the same information in Spanish for Spanish-speaking individuals in Louisville. He posted, “Buenas noticias para los residentes de Louisville con permiso de permanencia temporal (parole) ‘CHNV’: Si usted recibió una notificación del DHS en marzo indicando la terminación de su parole el 24 de abril, esa notificación ya no está vigente.”
On the occasion of Easter, McGarvey extended his greetings by simply wishing, “Happy Easter!” on April 20, 2025.
Morgan McGarvey was born in 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky, where he currently resides. Educated at the University of Missouri and the University of Kentucky College of Law, McGarvey commenced his congressional duties in 2023, succeeding John Yarmuth. Before his current role, he served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023 and the Kentucky Senate from 2013 to 2023.
