KINDERRED HEALTHCARE INC: Kindred at Home’s Dr. Ronald Crossno granted prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award

Kinderred Healthcare Inc. issued the following announcement on Nov, 8

Dr. Ronald Crossno, Kindred at Home’s Chief Medical Officer and National Medical Director (Hospice Division), has been selected to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM). The award “recognizes outstanding contributions and significant publications that have helped shaped the direction of the field of hospice and palliative medicine”.

He will be presented with the award in March at the AAHPM Annual Assembly.

As Chief Medical Officer and National Medical Director of the Hospice division, Dr. Crossno is responsible for the medical care provided by the company’s physicians and care providers. He began his work in hospice as a part-time medical director in 1993 at what is now Kindred Hospice in Temple, TX and has continued to work with the organization through various acquisitions, becoming full-time in 2002. Dr. Crossno became Chief Medical Officer in 2015.

I share this award and acknowledgement with each of them,” said Dr. Crossno.

Dr. Crossno received his undergraduate degree from Texas A & M University and completed his medical training at the UT Health Medical School in San Antonio. His board certifications include Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine. Dr. Crossno helped co-found the Texas Academy of Palliative Medicine. He has served on the board of directors of AAHPM, was elected treasured and served as the President in 2011 – 2012. He continues to represent AAHPM at the American Medical Association and with various other national workgroups, as well as being a frequent presenter at its Annual Assembly. Most recently, he joined the Board of Directors of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
