Women's Soccer has Second-Half Surge Against Principia

Women's Soccer has Second-Half Surge Against Principia

Spalding's Women Soccer team soared to a victory against the Panthers of Principia, 3-1.

TURNING POINT

The action started later than usual, where the Panthers played up to the skill of the Golden Eagles. But that changed around the 10th minute mark of the game here Baeli Young found a way to secure the ball in the back of the net of the Panthers goal. After that goal it returned to a stale mate, with multiple shots made but none of them were connecting. Leaving the score 1-0 at the half.

At the start of the second half, the action continued. After being on the offensive for the front part of the half the Golden Eagles were forced to play defense. Goal keeper Olivia Bosch was up against the Panthers' Kleist, but ultimately the Panthers found its way to the back of the goal. But then the Golden Eagles bounced back. By scoring two goals within 15 minutes of each other, made by Elle Trentman and Faith Rutherford respectfully. With these goals the Golden Eagles soared to the lead of 3-1.

GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES

The Golden Eagles lead in shots with 15(8) compared to the Panthers' 2(2).

NEXT FOR SPALDING
