Since 1943, our mission has been to publish high-quality books on Kentucky, our region, and scholarly books on a variety of subjects. We represent a consortium of all of Kentucky’s state universities, seven private colleges and universities and two major historical societies. While our books range vastly in topic, Kentucky – its people, history and culture – is at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that the University Press of Kentucky is the best at what we do – publishing fascinating and relevant books that bring honor and prestige to the Bluegrass State and help counter the stereotypes that have held us back.
