CCNE To Conduct A Reaccreditation Visit For BSN, MSN, & Initial Accreditation For DNP Programs

As an autonomous nursing professional accrediting agency officially recognized by the United States Secretary of Education, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs. CCNE serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports continuing self-assessment by nursing programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate and professional education.

Accreditation by CCNE, in essence, holds nursing programs accountable to the community of interest; the nursing profession, consumers, employers, higher education, students, and their families; and one another by ensuring the program curriculum is appropriate to prepare individuals to fulfill their expected roles within the nursing profession. As part of the procedural process, all affected parties (students, alumni, faculty, and the community of interest) are encouraged to provide written input into the deliberations of an evaluation team.

In March 2023, the CCNE evaluators will be on the Spalding campus to review the BSN, MSN, and DNP degree programs and determine their eligibility for CCNE accreditation/reaccreditation. Any specific written and signed third-party comments relating to the accreditation process will be accepted by CCNE.

All third-party comments can be directed via email to thirdpartycomments@ccneaccreditation.org. CCNE must receive all comments on or before February 8, 2023. You can find additional information related to the standards for accreditation on the following website: https://www.aacnnursing.org/CCNE.
