The most represented ethnicity among Jefferson County students was white, accounting for 44.1% of the student population, according to the Kentucky Department of Education.

Of the 106,415 students attending schools in Jefferson County's school districts, 44.1% were white. African American students constituted the second-largest ethnic group in the county's school districts, accounting for 36%.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Jefferson County's school districts, representing 39.2% of the student body.
