Louisville  – Where can you experience a triple axel, glistening sequins, a Zamboni in action, and Councilman Ben Reno-Weber (D-8) maybe on skates? You’ll find it all at the upcoming District 8 Community Meeting.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 18, 2024, and join Councilman Reno-Weber for an event that’s perfect for the whole family. The District 8 office invites all attendees to enjoy a delightful ice skating session at Alpine Ice Arena, located at 1825 Gardiner Lane.

Skating festivities will kick off at 11:00 a.m., followed by the community meeting at 11:30 a.m. in the Lakeview Room.

“Looking for an enjoyable and educational weekend activity? Grab your gloves and join me for an ice skating experience and engaging conversation at my family-friendly community meeting. This month, there’s no need to make a choice between entertaining your kids and sharing your district goals, you can do both! I look forward to seeing you on Sunday,” said Councilman Reno-Weber.

Participants will enjoy complimentary admission and skate rental during the meeting window. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to skate, discuss important issues, and connect with your community!

Dad joke of the meeting, “Why did the Zamboni break up with the ice?” Come to the meeting to hear the punchline.

This meeting is open to the public, but registration is requested for planning purposes. Please respond online here: https://share.hsforms.com/1lzJJBeZAQH6ZJzuZCuEafAnpwlv.

Councilman Reno-Weber will be hosting monthly community meetings (and telling horrible jokes) through the end of the calendar year as part of a multi-faceted approach to engaging District 8 residents. Meetings will be held at various times during the day to allow for maximum flexibility for residents.

If childcare or transportation are an issue, or if you are unable to attend, but would like to reach out to share an idea or concern, please contact Councilman Reno-Weber’s office at (502) 574-1108 or online at www.louisvilleky.gov/government/metro-council-district-8/contact-district-8-legislative-assistant.
