Morgan McGarvey comments on economy and reflects on Louisville's resilience

Morgan McGarvey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky's 3rd district, shared his thoughts on Twitter regarding both national economic issues and local community events. Known for his previous tenure in the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate, McGarvey continues to engage with constituents on various matters.

On April 9, 2025, McGarvey questioned the actions of former president Donald Trump regarding the economy. He expressed his concern directly, asking, "What the hell is Donald Trump doing with our economy?"

Reflecting on the second anniversary of a tragic event, McGarvey commemorated the victims of gun violence in Louisville. On April 10, 2025, he posted about the significance of the day, stating, "Today marks two years since the gun violence on 4/10 that forever changed Louisville..." He honors the memory of victims at Old National Bank, including Tommy Elliott, Josh Barrick, Juliana Farmer, Jim Tutt, and Deana Eckert, as well as Chea’von Moore at JCTC.

Also on April 10, McGarvey reflected on the resilience of the Louisville community. His tweet expressed admiration for the collective strength shown during hard times. He noted, "Reflecting on what this day means to our community, I’m reminded of how resilient Louisvillians are." He mentioned the solidarity shared among friends, neighbors, and loved ones, stating the ongoing commitment to supporting each other.

Morgan McGarvey, 43, was born in Louisville, Kentucky, where he presently resides. With a BA from the University of Missouri and a JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law, McGarvey has been serving in U.S. Congress since 2023, following his service in the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate.
