Zander Hooten named ASUN Track Performer of the Week after breaking school record

Bellarmine University senior Zander Hooten has been named the men’s ASUN Track Performer of the Week, according to an announcement from the league on Wednesday.

Hooten achieved this recognition after surpassing his own indoor program record in the 60-meter hurdles twice during the Rod McCravy Memorial at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. In the semifinals, Hooten set a new program record with a time of 7.99 seconds. He then ran 8.04 seconds in the finals, finishing fourth in the event and again exceeding his previous best of 8.06 seconds.

Hooten, who is from Greenwood, Indiana, currently holds the top ranking in the ASUN for this event.
