Men's tennis heads across town to face Louisville
The Bellarmine men's tennis team is on the road for the second consecutive match to open its 2023 season – this time the trip is nice and short.
The Knights will take on cross-town foe Louisville at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Wednesday, with action beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Junior Kyle Tang will make his return to Louisville after playing for the Cardinals the previous two seasons. Wednesday marks opening day for the Cardinals as they will also compete against UIC at 1:00 p.m. Louisville posted a 19-9 record last season with a 9-3 mark in ACC play, losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Oklahoma. The Cards were the top honorable mention team in the most recent ITA top-25 poll.
Bellarmine and Louisville have faced off each of the last two years with the Cardinals coming out on top in both meetings.
Bellarmine began its spring 2023 slate at Northern Kentucky, falling by a final score of 6-1. Freshman Vineet Ramesh tallied a singles win in the no. 5 slot, defeating Emilio Bravo 6-2, 6-1. Ramesh leads the team with a 9-1 singles record, including Bellarmine's fall matches.
