Swimming finishes 2022-23 season with final day at CCSA Championships

The Bellarmine men's and women's swim teams wrapped up the 2022-23 season on Saturday at the CCSA Championships.

 

To highlight the final day, Bellarmine claimed its second medal of the week, as freshman Sam Jones claimed bronze in the 1650 freestyle (15:45.99).  Jacob Dray had the top finish of the week for Bellarmine, earning silver in the 100 butterfly on Thursday.

 

Other notable finishes from Saturday for the men include:

 

Kenton Whiteley – 10th in the 200 breaststroke (2:03.15)

Greyson Williams – 11th in the 200 backstroke (1:51.15)

Brandon Thomas – 12th in the 200 breaststroke (2:03.49)

Will O'Connor – 14th in the 100 freestyle (45.85)

Keegan Henderson – 15th in the 200 backstroke (1:55.34)

Liam Connelly – 15th in the 1650 freestyle (16:35.48)

Sam Russell – 16th in the 1650 freestyle (16:40.56)

Andrew Nguyen – 16th in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.83)

Tyler Diercks – 17th in the 100 backstroke (1:56.70)

Brendan Verna – 17th in the 1650 freestyle (18:09.90)

Logan Jackson – 19th in the 100 freestyle (46.92)

Aubrey Archer Adams – 20th in the 100 freestyle (47.57)

 

On the women's side, Alexandra Pierce had the top finish of the day for Bellarmine, placing 20th in the 200 breaststroke (2:20.78).  Anna Holt had the best swim for Bellarmine this week with a 12th place finish in 200 butterfly (2:04.64).

Anna Holt – 29th in the 1650 freestyle (17:48.43)

Morgan Bender – 32nd in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.39)

Luiza Bonardi – 34th in the 1650 freestyle (18:22.95)

Lauren Diercks – 35th in the 200 backstroke (2:06.62)

Caroline McMillin – 40th in the 200 backstroke (2:10.10)
