Kamarute named to ASUN Indoor All-Academic Team
Bellarmine University track and field senior Katrina Kamarute earned a spot on the 12-member ASUN Indoor All-Academic Team, the league announced Thursday.
Kamarute is a business administration major and carries a 3.92 grade-point average. The native of Riga, Latvia, is now a two-time recipient of the award after previously being recognized in 2021. She's also a two-time member of the ASUN Honor Roll and was Academic All-GLVC prior to the Division-I transition.
The ASUN All-Academic Teams celebrate a combination of academic and athletic excellence. At this season's ASUN Indoor Championship, Kamarute earned a bronze medal in the 400 meters while helping the 4x400 relay team to a fifth-place finish.
In 2021, Kamarute helped push both the indoor and outdoor 4x400 relay teams to silver medals. She also garnered an ASUN Track Athlete of the Week accolade in that indoor season.
