Louisville – The Louisville Metro Council Majority Caucus members will participate in a district tour on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Majority Caucus Chair, Councilwoman Paula McCraney, implemented these tours after she was elected Chair in 2023. The tours provide an opportunity for members to learn more about individual districts and gain insight on projects, programs, and issues.

“Education has been one of my top priorities this year,” said Caucus Chair Councilwoman McCraney (D-7). “Touring various Council Districts is an excellent opportunity for us to explore and understand district-specific issues. We can also share best practices and exchange ideas for ways to serve the citizens of Louisville better.”

The tour on May 20 will highlight Council District 15, represented by Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell. Councilmembers will leave City Hall at 10 a.m. and travel around District 15 on a TARC bus.

The itinerary consists of several stops including:

  • Watterson Lake Park
  • Wyandotte Park
  • Eastern Parkway & Preston Highway
  • Emerson Park
The tour’s last stop will be at Hauck’s Corner, located at 1000 Goss Avenue, where members will enjoy lunch before heading back to City Hall. Before it was Hauck’s Corner it was Hauck’s Handy Store and served the community for over one hundred years. It’s also home to the World Championship Dainty Contest, which will be celebrating its 53rd year in 2023.

“I’m thrilled to invite my colleagues into District 15 to see the diverse area I proudly to serve,” said Councilwoman Chappell (D-15).
