Councilman Phillip T. Baker (D-6) invites Sixth District residents to a Town Hall meeting to discuss ongoing concerns related to homelessness in the district. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 26, at the Women’s Club of Louisville, located at 1320 S. Fourth Street, starting at 6:00 p.m.

This Town Hall meeting will present an opportunity for Sixth District residents to share their experiences and suggested solutions pertaining to homelessness in the district.

“I have heard from a growing group of neighbors regarding the escalating homeless situation in the district. I urge our neighbors to join us at this Town Hall to share your concerns with the decision makers. Your voice matters and you will be heard,” said Councilman Baker.

Since taking office in February of this year, Councilman Baker has collaborated with the Mayor, Louisville Metro Government agencies and Community Groups to explore solutions that can effectively address these mounting concerns.  New solutions will be announced at the Town Hall.

Senior representatives from Metro Government and related Community Organizations will discuss the steps that are being taken to address the community's concerns and will be available to answer questions.

Representatives attending include Chief Gwinn-Villaroel (Louisville Metro Police), Deputy Mayor Nicole George (Mayor’s Office), Jon Pilbean (Metro Homeless Services Division), Executive Director Natalie Harris (Coalition for the Homeless), Assistant Director Pete Flood (Solid Waste Management Services), and Metro311 representatives.

Sixth District residents may sign up to speak onsite beginning at 5:45 p.m. To allow the maximum number of people to speak, all speakers will have up to three minutes to speak.
