The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District has announced a new series of its award-winning Clearing the Air Community Workshops. The workshops provide the community with an inside look at the work of their local air pollution control agency and an opportunity to interact with the professionals tasked with protecting Louisville's air.
“Our scientists, engineers, officers, and other staff work hard to ensure healthy breathing air for our residents, and making that work transparent and accessible is one of our top priorities,” said Rachael Hamilton, Director of the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District. “These workshops are a great resource for residents who want to learn more about our work and a welcome opportunity for us to hear from and interact with those we serve.”
The virtual workshops, which are free and open to the public, will cover a range of local air quality subjects:
- October 24, 6 p.m.: What’s in the Air? APCD’s Air Monitoring Network & Low-Cost Air Sensors
- November 14, 6 p.m.: Learning About the Air: Air Quality Data & Online Resources
- December 12, 6 p.m.: Air Quality and Your Health: Resources & Guidance
- January 9, 6 p.m.: State of the Air: Louisville’s Year in Air Quality in 2023
