Metro Council Charging Committee makes final recommendation

Louisville  – On November 28, the Louisville Metro Council Charging Committee recommended the full Metro Council move forward with formal removal charges for Councilman Anthony Piagentini (R-19).

“After thorough review of the evidence in this matter and in light of the Ethics Commission’s recommendation for removal due to misconduct on the part of Councilman Piagentini, the Committee is obliged to uphold the integrity of the Metro Council and move forward with removal charges,” said Vice Chair, Councilman Owen.

The Committee has filed a written complaint with the Metro Council Clerk, in conformity with KRS 67C.143 (see below attachment). The Metro Council President shall deliver the complaint to the full Metro Council at the next regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, November 30, 2023.

The six Metro Council Members who serve on the Charging Committee are Councilwoman Cindi Fowler (D-14), Councilwoman Paula McCraney (D-7), Councilman Andrew Owen (D-9), Councilman Pat Mulvihill (D-10), Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell (D-15), and Councilwoman Betsy Ruhe (D-21).
