Louisville, KY: Kevin Kramer, 11th District Louisville Metro Councilman, has been appointed to Information Technology and Communications committee Chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) 2024 Information Technology and Communications Federal Advocacy Committee. Councilman Kramer was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities on broadband, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The appointment was announced by NLC President David Sander of Rancho Cordova, CA.
“I believe firmly in the mission of the National League of Cities as well as the many resources it provides to communities like ours. I am proud to once again step into a leadership role within this committee and hope to use the information gained to help us as well try to address an ever-changing aspect of local governance and infrastructure,” said Councilman Kevin Kramer, District 11 Louisville Metro Council.
As Chair of the committee, Councilman Kramer will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities, towns and villages before Congress, with the administration and at home.
“NLC’s federal advocacy committees play an important role in helping policymakers in Washington understand the issues and challenges facing America’s cities, towns and villages at the local level,” said NLC President Mayor-Elect David Sander of Rancho Cordova, CA. “I’m thrilled to have Councilman Kramer lead NLC’s Information Technology and Communications committee this year, and look forward to working with him to strengthen the federal-local partnership, and grow our common knowledge of the issues and opportunities facing our communities.”
This year’s Information Technology and Communications Committee will be led by Chair Kevin Kramer, Councilmember, Louisville-Jefferson County Metro, Kentucky; Vice Chair Don Groesser, Mayor, City of Ralston, Nebraska; and Vice Chair Bobby Scott, Mayor, City of Center Point, Alabama.
