Two SLIAC All-Conference nods and a sportsmanship honor for women's soccer
Spalding University women's soccer junior Baeli Young was named to the 2022 St Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) second team and was joined by two other Golden Eagles with all-conference honors.
This is Young's second All-Conference second team award.
The junior finished the season with 14 goals and eight assists. During the regular season, she lead the conference in total goals (14) and goals per game (.88). Young finished second in total points (36), third in shots on goal (2.25), fourth in assists per game (.50), and fifth in total assists (8). She also had a SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week award during the 2022 season.
Another student-athlete from the Golden Eagles took home honors. Macie Rawlins was named to the 2022 SLIAC third team.
Rawlins was a key player for the stout Golden Eagle defense. Her leadership on defense helped the Spalding team in transition. The SU defense notched four shutouts with Rawlings on the field.
The third Golden Eagle to receive a conference award is Elle Trentman. Trentman was awarded a spot on the All-Sportsmanship team.
Trentman had three goals and an assist this season.
The Spalding women's soccer team finished the year 7-10-1 overall with a 6-7-1 SLIAC mark. The Golden Eagles advanced to the SLIAC Tournament quarterfinal where they fell to Westminster.
