A former middle school teacher in Louisville, Kentucky, has pleaded guilty to several charges related to child pornography. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky and Special Agent in Charge Michael E. Stansbury of the FBI Louisville Field Office.
Jordan Fautz, aged 40, admitted guilt to three counts of distribution of child pornography, two counts of distribution of obscene visual representations of child sexual abuse, one count of production of such material, and one count of possession. Court documents reveal that Fautz used an online chatting application to distribute material to an undercover law enforcement officer. He also created and distributed altered images depicting minors' faces on bodies engaged in explicit conduct. Investigators found additional material on his computer and cell phone.
Sentencing is set for March 19, 2025. The penalties range from a minimum of five years to a maximum of 120 years in prison. If the plea agreement is accepted by the court, Fautz will serve 19 years and seven months without parole.
The case is under investigation by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney A. Spencer McKiness.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide.
