Rep. Morgan McGarvey, representing Kentucky’s 3rd district, has been active on social media discussing critical issues such as veteran suicides and economic policies. His service to Kentucky has been continuous since he took office in 2023, succeeding John Yarmuth. McGarvey’s recent tweets have highlighted his legislative initiatives and critiques related to national policies.

On April 3, 2025, McGarvey emphasized the urgency of addressing veteran suicides, stating, "We lose 20 veterans to suicide every day—we have to do more to treat all wounds of war, both visible and invisible. Service dogs are an incredible tool in that tool box." He expressed pride in joining Representative Luttrell to reintroduce a bill aimed at connecting veterans with service dogs.

Later the same day, McGarvey criticized former President Trump's tariff policies, arguing that they lack strategic foundation. He posted, "Trump's broad tariffs aren't based in any strategy. They're half-baked, and they're going to hurt Kentuckians." This critique reflects McGarvey's view that such policies are detrimental to Kentuckians, citing past examples from Trump's first term.

In a subsequent tweet on April 3, McGarvey reiterated his stance against tariffs as an economic strategy. He wrote, "I want to bring more manufacturing jobs home, but tariffs don't solve problems on their own. Especially not these ones." He emphasized that the lack of a coherent strategy behind the tariffs is already causing harm to Americans.
