Morgan McGarvey, serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky’s 3rd district, recently voiced his concerns on various issues through a series of tweets. McGarvey, who succeeded John Yarmuth in 2023, has an extensive background, including serving in the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Kentucky Senate. A Louisville native, McGarvey holds a BA from the University of Missouri and a JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

On April 3, 2025, McGarvey addressed the impact of frequent dangerous weather in Louisville, sharing on social media that "As Louisville faces increasingly frequent and dangerous weather, @NWSLouisville is already stretched so thin they can't go out and confirm tornadoes." Expressing concern about former President Trump's intentions, he stated, "Trump wants to dismantle the National Weather Service altogether. Can't stress enough how dangerous that is."

On April 4, 2025, McGarvey commented on the Trump Administration's approach to immigration policies, posting that "It's clear the Trump Administration has never cared about immigrating 'the right way' — they're carelessly upending lives in Louisville with no clear guidance or next steps." Supporting a statement from @AFLCIO, he emphasized, "These are human beings, not just case numbers. They deserve dignity and transparency."

Later the same day, McGarvey critiqued the lack of strategy behind the Trump administration's tariffs, explaining, "Tariffs aren't good or bad — they're a tool." But he noted, "There's no strategy behind Trump's broad tariffs. They're like trying to fix an iPad with a hammer."
